New Prospect Advances From Level 1 to Level 5 School

Lawrence County Schools is proud to announce the advancement of New Prospect Elementary School from the state’s lowest recognition of academic performance to the highest.

Director of Schools Dr. Bill Heath shares, “Early data returns are demonstrating a complete turnaround academically for New Prospect School.  It takes strong leadership at the principal level to transform a Level 1 (lowest) performing school to a Level 5 (highest) performing level school in just one year’s time.

I tip my hat not only to Dr. Jones and Mr. Rochelle for providing strong leadership but also to the entire faculty and staff for the great results we are seeing this year.”

Dr. Anisha Jones came on board as principal of New Prospect School with Brad Rochelle serving as Assistant Principal for the 2013/2014 year.

Countless hours were put into restructuring the school by looking at previous student achievement data and assigning teachers to teach at the grade level and subject area where success was most evident.

Principal, Dr. Anisha Jones states, “I am very excited about our Level 5 status!  I am truly blessed to work at a school with such amazing students, faculty, staff, and parents.  I am very proud of their hard work and dedication, pushing our students to the highest level of excellence.  Thank you NPS for a great year!”
